Last Show Of 2019

Welcome to our final show for 2019. What a year it has been for us. A record year on our mergers and acquisitions firm and for this show, it has been a tremendous ride for us. We’ve been blessed and thankful for all of our steady readers and the growth of our audience both domestically and internationally. While we’re not interviewing anybody on this episode, I wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for reading, for all the feedback that we’ve received, your emails of ideas and topics that you’d like us to talk about. Please don’t hesitate at any time to send us information on things you’d like to hear about or even if you have recommendations on people that you think would be great to interview on the show. We’d love any and all of that feedback.

You can send all of those comments to me directly at [email protected] or [email protected]. Either way, we’ll get that information and hopefully can act on it. I also wanted to take a moment to talk about a couple of the interviews that we have coming up in 2020 that are going to be outstanding. The first interview that we’re going to have in January is with Dr. Bart Basi. He is one of the foremost experts in the country on taxes as it relates to transactions. Whether that’s preplanning, which you should all be doing or you’re in the middle of a transaction and you need some tax advice. Dr. Basi is outstanding.

MAU 29 | M&A Unplugged

M&A Unplugged: More people and interviews for this show will help you become better prepared for your own transactions.

He’s been involved in a number of our transactions throughout the years and has saved some of our clients, hundreds and hundreds of thousands of dollars, almost approaching millions. I have to say, his knowledge, expertise, and track record over the years are second to none as far as I’m concerned. Hopefully, you’ll get a lot out of that. We’re also going to be interviewing Jay Myers who started and grew a business and wound up selling it. He had some tremendous insights about the challenges of selling the business and the things that he wished he would have been better prepared for. It was a great outcome for him, but there were still things along the way that if he had done a little bit more work and preplanning might’ve been easier for him.

We’re also going to have one of the principals of Gulf Coast Financial Valuations, which is a valuation company that we’ve done a lot of work with throughout the years. They’re going to come on and talk about how businesses are valued. They work with banks a lot and helping banks do independent third-party appraisals in their underwriting and they’re going to share all of their thoughts and wisdom. We’ve got some tremendous shows planned for 2020. We look forward to having you join us for that ride as we unfold more people, more interviews and hopefully meeting or exceeding our goal for this show of helping you be better prepared for your own transactions.

The last thing I wanted to talk about was plans are well underway for the launch of our new business, which is going to be called K2Adviser. In that business, we’ll be launching consulting services aimed at buyers and sellers, helping them prepare for their transactions, prepare to acquire a business, prepare for an exit or prepare so that your business is running at an optimal value. We will also be offering services if you’re in a deal and you need some consulting services, short-term consulting deal expertise. We’ll be offering up some of those consulting services and we’re hoping that service will launch by the end of Q1 2020. There is much more to come on that front. If you know of anybody who may need consulting services, feel free to reach out to me directly at [email protected] or [email protected]. I want to thank you for tuning in and being part of our community. We appreciate all the feedback and wishing you and your families a happy and healthy holiday and a great 2020. We’ll see you in our next episode.
